Model Overview

The Porsche 911 has just celebrated it's 50th anniversary and is without a doubt one of the most respected and famous model lines in the history of performance cars.

Though the 911 has evolved a lot since 1963 it's distinctive design and layout remain very much the same. A 2 door sports car available as a coupe or cabriolet with a rear engine compartment and the option of rear wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.

The original 911 ran until 1989 and since then the different generations of 911 are identified by a particular series starting with the 964 series and more recently the 997 and 991 series.

Though there are many variants of the 911, some such as the 911 Turbo and the GT3 are perhaps best seen as different models in their own right. The basic 911 these days wears the 'carrera' name made famous by the RS Carreras from the 1960s which are now the most valuable 911s of all. The current 991 series line up consists of the Carrera and the more powerful Carrera S both for sale as coupe or cabriolet with optional 4 wheel drive versions. The 911 Targa is the latest to join the 991 line up which features a glass canopy roof. Critics around the world have universally praised the 911 throughout its lifespan for its superb handling and it's fine engineering regarding it as a real drivers car which enthusiasts have long admired. Though the traditional manual gearbox still exists Porsche's PDK dual clutch gearbox is now the common choice for most buyers. Always a consideration for anyone looking to buy an enjoyable and involving sports car the 911 is one of our best selling models which we always aim to have a selection in stock.
