The Mercedes AMG GT 63 S E Performance is the top of the range version of AMG's popular 4-door sports car. With the AMG GT 4-door receiving a facelift in 2023 there were several upgrades on the car but it was the introduction of this new E Performance model which created the headlines with class-leading power and the first time that Mercedes had added a plug in hybrid variant to this model.
Not to be confused with the AMG GT63 GT Coupe, this 4-door variant packs all the performance of the GT Coupe in a more practical form. The twin-turbo V8 remains untamed and still as brutal as it needs to be, with crisp throttle response followed by a deep and aggressive engine tone but it's the addition of the electric motor which sits on the rear axle alongside an additional 2-speed gearbox and the limited slip diff which whilst adding weight it creates an absolute performance weapon.
This is only accentuated further with the help of Brabus, the renowned aftermarket tuners who work so closely with AMG to create some of the highest performing cars on the planet. With both performance upgrades and cosmetic enhancements, the Brabus version of this model gives you guaranteed exclusivity and a true head turner.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- There are plenty of reasons for not buying a plug-in hybrid. Mercedes-AMG pitches 843 reasons why you should.
- Here’s some proper snarl about the engine, first an alertness then a sledgehammer delivery to the performance that just leaves you bewildered. It’s great fun, all the more so for knowing you could have the kids and a pile of bags in the back too, should you so wish.
- It is nothing less than the most powerful series-production AMG road car yet made, and combines in-house-developed, high- performance battery technology with a hybrid drive concept unlike any seen elsewhere in the industry.
