Model Overview
The SLS AMG combines exquisite retro styling with long smooth lines harking back to the Mercedes 300 SL of yesteryear. Under that beautiful nostalgic bodywork, the SLS is the first car that AMG have been given a clean sheet to do as they please, rather than giving a standard Mercedes the “AMG Treatment”, which always has its limitations. Being front-engined gives the SLS the advantage of having a reasonably sized boot, as well as being equipped with all the driver aids and comforts you would expect from a Mercedes-Benz. In Roadster format the SLS gives a visceral and connected open top driving experience unlike any other. With the sound of that naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 all the more audible with the roof down, this really is a car that needs to be experienced to be fully understood. Overall the SLS AMG Roadster blends retro-styling, German build quality and a uniquely brutish engine to produce a German drop-top muscle car like no other.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- SLS offers a superb blend of performance, drivability and sheer class.
- The Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster re-writes the convertible rule book - it's a better car than the hardtop on which it's based. And that's an amazing thing to say when you consider it misses out on the coupe's fabulous gullwing doors.
- Few cars have aged as well as the SLS AMG over the last decade. It’s hard to believe that prices of these 196mph supercars haven’t rocketed yet. Still, there’s always time!
