The S55 twin-turbo, inline-6 3.0L engine has been lifted from the M4 and is what powers the M2 Competition, providing it with 404bhp rather than the 365bhp the original M2 produced. Other changes made include an adaptive suspension system, allowing it to cope far better with UK roads than the first M2. The interior is almost identical to the previous M2, apart from M Sport seats that hug the driver far better than the regular 2-series seats. The exterior receives a more aggressive front bumper with flared vents below the lights and a re-designed lower valence.
