The Black Series takes the already aggressive CLK63 AMG and adds some upgrades that really allow it to stand out. The Black Series keeps the naturally aspirated 6.3L V8 but receives a larger intake system coupled with a tweaked exhaust system. Both are less restrictive which means the ECU has been recalibrated to take advantage of these changes, meaning a power jump from 481bhp to just under the 500bhp mark. The bodywork has been redesigned not only for styling, but to also accommodate for the upgrades. The styling is aggressive yet purposeful. An additional transmission oil cooler and engine oil cooler can be found in each of the front wheel arches that, along with the rear, have been widened significantly.

The CLK63 AMG Black Series was designed with track use in mind. How do we know? Well the additional cooling and reworked suspension suggest so, along with the uprated suspension. The rear seats have been removed as to save weight, with a carbon fibre rear diffuser and air vents further shedding weight. Only 500 CLK63 AMG Black Series were produced worldwide, making it one of the most desirable AMG Black Series models to emerge from Affalterbach.
