The Audi R8 V10, a car that has been named as 'the supercar for everyday', has received an update, refreshing and modernising its looks. The ‘V10 Plus’ has now been replaced with the ‘V10 Performance’, with power being increased from 602bhp to 612bhp. Along with the added power comes slightly more sound produced from the highly praised 5.2L V10. The V10 symphony is amplified through slightly larger exhaust pipes on either side of the sharper looking rear bumper. The same can be said for the front bumper, with a more aggressive finish than the pre-facelift.
A new carbon anti-roll bar has been introduced to the facelift and along with the variable ratio system, which finetunes the steering to your desirability, means the R8 V10 Performance feels much more poised around corners. The speed is as intoxicating as it has ever been - the V10 concerto sings as it nears the top of the rev range, coaxing you to apply more pressure to the throttle pedal. The carbon ceramic brakes, standard on the V10 Performance ensure that speed is scrubbed off swiftly.
The V10 Performance Edition brings a host of options as standard to the facelifted R8. These included the V10 Performance Sport Suspension and Gloss Carbon Fibre Inlays. The R8 remains a very highly acclaimed naturally aspirated super car, a car that we can’t recommend highly enough.
"It’s massively quick at the top of the power band, but its special appeal is in the noise and vibe" - Autocar
"Grip levels are just about as good as it gets, with beautiful mid-corner balance and flat, stable handling" - Motor1
"The R8 is a hoot to drive, but it’s the day-to-day drudgery of modern driving where the Audi comes into its own" - Driving.co.uk
