The Rolls Royce Phantom is one of the world's ultimate luxury cars. Launched in 2003, this generation of Phantoms were the first Rolls Royce developed and introduced after BMW purchased the right to use the Rolls Royce name and logo in 1998. Signature features include the iconic Spirit of Ecstasy and Coach Doors. Due to the rear seating position in relation to the rear inner door handles, buttons are mounted on the dashboard, adding to the luxury and ease of use.
Details such as the wood and leather were completed to match the individual specification tailored to each customer, with final assembly taking place at their plant in Goodwood. Customers were provided with 44,000 paint colour options and any leather interior colour, representing the focus on customer satisfaction from Rolls-Royce. Other novel features were the fact that the Spirit of Ecstasy had an automatic retraction mechanism which prevented theft when the Phantom was locked. The wheel hub caps each had independent bezels, allowing the ‘RR’ logos to permanently remain upright while the wheels rotate. These novel features gave the Phantom a unique character which is still unique even in today’s market.
The Phantom Drophead receives wider side sills and a reduced wheelbase than the standard Phantom. The front grille slopes backwards slightly which complements the sculpted body lines and the yacht-like tail. The ability to merge the interior and the outside world via the retractable roof makes the Drophead an appealing choice for luxury cruises in the sun.
The Phantom really is the ultimate car to be chauffeured in with unrivalled comfort and road presence, offering a high level of luxury within the automotive market.
