Model Overview

The Porsche 918 Spyder is one of the defining hypercars of the modern era. Limited to just 918 examples worldwide, it marked a pivotal moment for performance cars, proving that hybrid technology could enhance, rather than dilute, driver engagement.

At its heart sits a naturally aspirated 4.6-litre V8 derived from Porsche’s RS Spyder LMP2 programme, paired with two electric motors to produce 887 bhp. It famously lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under seven minutes and, as one third of the so-called “Holy Trinity” alongside the LaFerrari and McLaren P1, rewrote the hypercar rulebook.

We have known this particular 918 since almost new, having first acquired it from its original owner and sold it in 2015, with the car returning to us several times since. Finished in Basalt Black, arguably one of the most desirable colours for the 918, it benefits from extensive Porsche history and is immaculately presented.

More than a decade on, the 918 remains arguably the most usable of the Holy Trinity and one of the most significant collector cars of its generation, combining extraordinary performance and motorsport pedigree with everyday usability, removable roof panels and genuine long-distance comfort.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY

  • Above all else the 918 is the most complicated and most impressive piece of car calibration ever achieved.
    Chris Harris
  • Beautifully understated and beautifully built. What makes the car special, however, weren't the Top Trumps numbers, but the overall completeness of the package.
    Pistonheads
  • The 918 Spyder seems to be on the rise as of late with examples achieving record-breaking figures at auction, so now could be the perfect time to add Porsche’s hybrid hypercar to your stable.
