The Targa has occupied a distinctive place in the 911 range since its introduction in 1965. For the 992 generation, Porsche retained the defining wide roll hoop, wraparound rear glass and retractable roof, now operated automatically in 19 seconds. In 4S form, its twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre flat-six produces 450 PS and 530 Nm, supported by Porsche Traction Management all-wheel drive.
This particular car adds another traditional ingredient with its 7-speed manual gearbox, creating one of the most classic configurations available in the modern 911 range. Night Blue Metallic over Slate Grey leather provides an understated foundation, while its Satin Black Targa bar, Satin Black Carrera S wheels and SportDesign bodywork give the car greater definition. Sport Chrono and the sports exhaust add further character, sharpening the response and giving the manual drivetrain a more vocal character.
There is an appealing coherence to the result. The Targa roof brings theatre, the manual gearbox adds involvement and the SportDesign details provide presence without overwhelming the carās proportions. For someone wanting a 992 that feels distinctive at ordinary speeds as well as capable when driven properly, this Targa 4S makes a particularly convincing case.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- A convertible that's searingly quick, sharp to drive, plush around town, surprisingly practical and genuinely usable 365 days of the year.
- This is as much a design object as it is a pure sports car.
- Itās still a thrilling sports car through and through, with the added theatre of that gorgeous roof ā weād just say that this is much more the grand tourer of the 911 range, rather than a balls-to-the-wall sports car. That still makes it tremendously desirable.
