The GT3 RS has always been Porsche's most hardcore, track-focused version of the 911, with plenty of aero and weight-saving measures, as well as more power than the GT3 or Turbo models. Successor to the legendary 997 variant of the GT3 RS, the 991 RS model had a lot to live up to. When Porsche unveiled it in 2015 and reintroduced the 4-litre flat-6 engine found in the final iteration of the 997, it's safe to say that Porsche really delivered the goods. Packing a punch at 492bhp and achieving a staggering 0-60 time of just 3.3 seconds, this track monster cemented itself as one of the all-time greats.
Where the 991 GT3 RS really shines is in its handling. The huge rear wing, wheel arch louvres and front aero aren’t there just to make the car look more aggressive but serve to create handling capability that many say is unmatched by anything other than later iterations of the RS. Weight-saving also contributes the RS’s cornering ability, with the rear seats being replaced by a roll cage. This certainly isn’t the 911 to take your family out shopping in, but maybe if you fancy a trip to the Nurburgring instead.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- Superb on road, spectacular on track.
- The GT3 RS is truly outstanding and deserves our categorical praise.
- Despite being a road car, the 911 GT3 RS is even more savage than the racing version.
