The Gen II 991 Carrera S Cabriolet holds an iconic status after the first Cabriolet rear-engined 911 came about in 1982. Since then, they have been extremely popular, and the 991.2 generation is no exception to this. The interior is comfortable and as is the theme with Porsche, everything is where it feels as if it naturally should be. Nothing is over-complicated.
High levels of handling and performance is a trademark found across the Porsche engine range, with the 3.0L Turbocharged Flat-6 being found in the Carrera S category delivering 414 bhp. Despite not having the same dynamic of the older naturally aspirated Carreras, it still packs a punch and delivers a drive oozing with Porsche personality. The added bonus of a reclining roof allows you to experience the car on another level. The sweet sound of the engine is heard more clearly and the sensation of the wind rushing round the cabin really completes the characterful driving experience. The 991.2 Carrera S Cabriolet is arguably one of the greatest sports cars ever built.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- Few cars make the transition from coupe to Cabriolet as well as the 911 does.
- Push the throttle and it explodes into the distance as the turbocharged surge of acceleration shocks you in the back.
- It may be a predictable answer, but the now-turbocharged 911 Carrera S remains a benchmark sports car.
