The Defender 75th Anniversary celebrates the icon’s 75th birthday in 2023. This special edition receives a Grasmere Green paintjob which harks back to the older models including the heritage. Much like the heritage, the wheels are finished in the same paint, with the Grasmere Green theme continuing on to the interior. The Anniversary is available in both Defender 90 and 110 guise and is based on the HSE trim level. Being the HSE trim means that desirable features such as Matrix LED Headlights, Meridian Sound System and Heated and Cooled Electric Front Seats are included as standard. The Anniversary was built to commemorate the 75 years of the Defender by highlighting certain features of the history of the Defender, which the colour scheme certainly encapsulates.

This example features the P400e plug-in electric hybrid vehicle claims to achieve up to 94.7 mpg on a sensibly driven long-run, which is massively appealing to Land Rover customers who put serious miles on their cars. In addition, the fact that it can also run in a purely electric mode for short trips producing zero tailpipe emissions, will be music to environmentalists’ ears. All this low emission high fuel efficiency wizardry has been made possible by a 2.0L Ingenium engine coupled to an 85kW electric motor. The electric and petrol systems can work separately or together whilst using regenerative braking or a plug-in charger to top up the 13kWh battery. Together they produce nearly 400hp, meaning despite the extra weight of the battery technology the P400e is no slouch. The new Defender has truly been redefined, whilst still demonstrating the original purpose of what the Land Rover Defender was originally designed to achieve.
