The Jaguar F-Type SVR Convertible sits right at the top of Jaguar’s modern sports car story. When the F-Type arrived, it was meant to reconnect the brand with the spirit of cars like the E-Type - but the SVR took that idea and pushed it much further. Developed by Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations division, it was the fastest and most extreme version you could buy, blending everyday usability with genuine supercar pace. It’s also one of the last of its kind: a front-engined, supercharged V8 roadster built before the industry shifted heavily toward downsizing and electrification.
What makes it stand out isn’t just the numbers, but how it delivers them. The 5.0-litre supercharged V8 produces 575PS and is paired with all-wheel drive, giving it serious traction in all conditions, while the active exhaust ensures it sounds as aggressive as it feels. Adaptive suspension, a torque-vectoring differential, and lightweight SVR-specific components keep it sharp without making it unusable on real roads. Inside, it strikes a balance between performance and comfort, with heated and cooled seats, a Meridian sound system, and modern connectivity like Apple CarPlay. Roof down, it’s as dramatic as anything at this price point - roof up, it’s still a properly quick, usable performance car.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- It’s still an utterly mad sports car – fast, loud and theatrical in a way few rivals dare to be, yet it manages to remain usable enough for everyday driving.
- The F-Type SVR delivers serious pace, but what really defines it is the drama - the noise, the aggression and the sense that every drive is an event.
- It looks cool, sounds incredible and delivers brutal acceleration, but it’s the character of the car that really sets it apart from more clinical rivals.
