Built to celebrate Ferrari's 50th anniversary, the F50 was the closest thing to a road going Formula 1 car the company had ever built. The F50 was as raw as supercars got with no power steering, no power assisted brakes and ABS but it was made from exotic sophisticated composite materials with F1 style construction technology and aerodynamics. Limited to just 349 examples worldwide, the F50 was the successor to the legendary F40 but unlike its two previous predecessors, Ferrari ditched the V8 turbocharged engines and went for a normally aspirated V12. However, this was no ordinary engine as it was the 4.7 litre V12 engine derived directly from the 1989 F1-89 F1 car. Furthermore, the F50 used the same construction monocoque chassis and the same suspension setup as the F1 car. Put it simply, the F50 was a no compromise machine and overall it is one of the greatest road cars ever built.
