The 458 Speciale A was the open-top conclusion to Ferrari’s naturally aspirated V8 Special Series era. Limited to 499 examples, it paired the Speciale’s 4.5-litre V8, producing 597 bhp at 9,000 rpm, with a 14-second aluminium retractable hardtop. Active aerodynamics and Side Slip Angle Control carried over from the coupé, while, despite a weight increase of just 50 kg, the Aperta matched its 3.0-second 0–62 mph time and 1:23.5 Fiorano lap time.

This particular example is finished in the special triple-layer Giallo Triplo Strato paint. In a rare departure from the far more common two-tone designs, this Speciale A’s classic stripe features the colours of the Italian flag within a white border. The design is complemented by carbon-fibre detailing across the lower sections of the exterior, while the ‘Style’ Carbon Fibre Racing Seats feature yellow centres and Italian flag stitching, carefully chosen to match the exterior aesthetic. The result is a cabin and exterior that co-exist in perfect harmony.

Limited to just 499 examples worldwide, the Speciale A is considerably rarer than the coupé and occupies a particularly significant position in Ferrari’s modern history. It was the final limited-production, naturally aspirated V8 Spider before Ferrari entered the turbocharged era - giving it a combination of rarity, technical significance and emotional appeal that collectors increasingly value. With its retractable hardtop, dramatic styling, extensive carbon fibre and race-inspired cabin, it offers the usability of an open-top Ferrari while retaining the character and focus of one of Maranello’s greatest Special Series models.
