With this in mind the F-Type, released nearly 60 years later, had the weight of the automotive world on it’s shoulders and credit to Jaguar for creating an eligible and worthy successor. Originally released as a convertible and swiftly followed up by a stunning fastback coupe version launched in 2013 the F-Type has won back the hearts of many Jaguar fans from around the world. This iteration of the big snarling cat is the full on SVR version, which takes the monstrous 567bhp 5.0L supercharged V8 straight out of the Range Rover Sport SVR and crams it under the bulging bonnet of this super convertible, making for some astonishing performance figures. All wheel drive, electronic active differential and adaptive dynamic suspension give this car lively or planted handling dependent on how the driver personalises the configurable dynamic modes. By far and away our favourite feature of this car has to be the switchable active exhaust which has been crafted from titanium and a super alloy called Inconel resulting in a truly unique and unmistakably boisterous F-Type exhaust note. This party piece sound track is only intensified with the roof down and in our opinion the addictive noise coming from those quad tailpipes make it one of the most desirable super convertibles on the market.
