Porsche and many of the other prestigious luxury car manufactures will be attending annual Techno-Classica 2012 in Essen, Germany from 21 – 25 March. This will be a special occasion for the German manufacturer of luxury cars as Porsche will be celebrating the 40th birthday of the formidable 911 Carrera RS at this year’s event.

The Techno-Classica event in Essen is currently in its 24th year and offers one of the largest displays of international classic dealers, with more than 2,500 classic collector’s cars on display. This event is the world’s largest historic forum of the automobile industry.

Porsche will be marking this event and the 40th birthday of the formidable 911 Carrera RS by displaying two extremely special racing versions of the 911 Carrera RS from Porsche Museum in Stuttgart. They are both true supercars of their day.

Visitors will be able to see an early Porsche 911 which is stripped down and currently undergoing a full restoration by the specialists in the Porsche Classic workshop.
