Audi RS6 Avant GT: 10 Things You’ll Love

  • Audi RS6 Avant GT: 10 Things You’ll Love

I often get asked, “What is the ultimate estate car?” And whilst you won’t go far wrong with an Audi RS6 wait until you see the ultra-rare Audi RS6 Avant GT.

The Avant GT is a track-inspired, performance-focused estate upgrade on the standard RS6. There have been hundreds of tweaks to the body and finish of the car that make it a completely different animal altogether, whilst still retaining a lot of what’s good about the RS6.

We’re going to look at a few of those changes and count down 10 things that you’ll love about it. Covering everything from how many Audi RS6s were made to improvements to its aerodynamics.

So buckle up and enjoy.

10 Things You'll Love About The Audi RS6 Avant GT

10. Improved Aerodynamic

At number 10 is the improved aerodynamics over the regular RS6. Audi has redesigned the whole front and rear bumper to improve its aerodynamics. You get a bespoke splitter at the front, with them adding a new rear bumper with a diffuser that has been specifically designed for the GT.

This is also the first time Audi has added a proper rear spoiler to the RS6. The rear spoiler doesn’t just make it look cooler and a bit more eye-catching, but it also improves its stability and handling at high speeds, giving it more of that track focus compared to the RS6.

9. The Wheels

Audi has designed brand new 22-inch wheels specifically for the GT. The first thing you’ll notice about them is that they’re white and they feel a little more racecar rather than estate. They chose the wheels to be white to pay homage to the 1989 GTO race car, which won a whole load of races for them. They also look sleek and cool, matching the body colour of the car.

8. The Manually Adjustable Coilover Springs

The Avant GT is a lot lighter than the standard RS6. It’s this weight saving that allows it to hit a higher top speed of 190mph. One of the clever ways Audi has managed to shed some pounds is by swapping out the electronic anti-rollbar for manually adjustable coilover springs.

The springs also allow the driver to fine-tune the ride. It comes with a little toolkit that allows you to adjust everything from ride height to the stiffness for better performance and handling on track days.

7. The GT Badge

At number 7 is the kudos from the GT badge.

Audi isn’t shy about having the badging on the car. It’s on the back of the car, the wheels, the vented front wings, the door sills, the rear seats, the floor mats and under the lacquer of the front seats.

It’s a gentle reminder that this is a completely different car from the standard RS6. It is a much more powerful version of it, and you’re the lucky person who gets to drive it.

6. The Carbon Ceramic Brakes

The brakes are one of the biggest differences between the RS6 and the Avant GT. On the RS6, you need to pay an additional £9,000 (at time of writing) for them. Whereas on the GT, they come as standard.

The ceramic brakes give the car a lot more stopping power and, once again, reinforce that this car is as at home on the track as it is on the road.

5. The Practicality

Despite it having a top speed of 190mph and doing 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, this is still an estate. And with it being an estate, it is still a very practical car. You still have a massive boot for all your luggage, 5 seats and plenty of room in the back for passengers. They’ve also made sure to include all the latest driving assistance tech as well as the quattro four-wheel drive, giving more grip around any tight corners. Making this car as at home on the school commute as it is on the track. Which isn’t something you can say for many cars that are packing a V8 under the hood.

4. The Heritage Livery

At number 4, it is the motorsport-inspired livery. The Arkona White with dynamic black, white and red nods to Audi tradition without feeling dated. Combine the colour scheme with the carbon front wings and the removed roof rails, and it looks and feels fast before you've even put the keys in the ignition.

Arkona White isn’t the only colour option. It also comes in Mythos Black and Nardo Grey, but with 60% of people choosing the white, you’re less likely to see those colours in the wild.

3. How Many RS6 Avant GTs Were Made?

There were only 660 produced worldwide (each one labelled) and 60 sold in the UK, making the Audi RS6 Avant GT a very rare car.

Add in the fact that Audi is switching all future RS6 models to a hybrid engine, so this is the very last one with a combustible V8 engine, and it's easy to see why people are saying that it’s a true collector's item.

2. Exposed Carbon Fibre

One of our favourite things about this car is the amount of exposed carbon fibre on it. If you look at the front, you can see two carbon scoops giving it that distinctive racecar look. You could be easily fooled into thinking that’s it for the front, but if you pop the hood, you soon realise that the entire bonnet is carbon. Saving a ton of weight.

The carbon doesn’t just stop with the bonnet. No, there are the wing mirrors and the side skirts, as well as one of our favourite features… The Front Wings.

Audi has added these cool carbon fibre front wings with vents in them to the RS6 GT to improve the aerodynamics in the bid to make it that little bit faster. They also have the added bonus of looking cool and adding a little bit of curb appeal, as well.

1. The Bucket Seats

And finally, down to the thing we think you’ll love the most about RS6 GT. The brand-new bucket seats.

This is the first time that the RS6 has had bucket seats, and they are worth the wait. They have a dynamic fabric that’s soft and luxurious while still feeling sporty. In the headrest, there’s the RS6 GT Logo on the lacquer.

But the coolest thing about these seats is that the whole seatbacks are made of satin carbon fibre. Acting as a kind of reminder that this car is built for both comfort and performance.

Final Verdict

The Audi RS6 Avant GT isn’t just another fast estate; it’s a bold, track-inspired farewell to an era of pure combustion RS models. With only 660 units made worldwide, it delivers a unique blend of motorsport heritage, hardcore engineering, and everyday usability that few cars can match.

From the bespoke aerodynamics and exposed carbon fibre to the manually adjustable suspension and satin carbon bucket seats, everything about the GT screams limited-edition without compromising its comfort.

For collectors, this is a future classic. For drivers, it’s one of the most complete and exciting estate cars ever built. Whether you're doing the school run or setting lap times, the RS6 Avant GT proves you really can have it all.
