Range Rover has decided to lift the lid on the brand new 4th generation Range Rover before the official launch next month at the Paris Motor Show. Before this people had only been able to see disguised versions or computer generated images but now Land Rover have revealed pictures of the all-new look.

As thought, the Evoque has inspired a new front end and it definitely looks the business! The big change is that for the first time the Range Rover will use an all-alumunium chassis saving 420kg on weight, this improves agility and performance as well as reducing co2 emissions and providing better fuel economy. 3 engine types are said to be on sale including 3.0L V6 diesel, a 4.4L V8 diesel and a 5.0L Supercharged petrol engine.

Delays in production have meant first deliveries have been pushed back to early 2013 and Range Rover is attempting to move even more upmarket with prices set to increase with big spec models costing over £100,000. Range Rover experimented with this market with the Range Rover Ultimate Edition which was a big success proving there was enough demand for extra luxury at an extra cost.

The new model has a longer wheelbase meaning a more spacious interior and Land Rover are said to have taken it up a notch in quality of materials and design. This will set the Range Rover on a perch sitting above the likes of the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne currently it’s closest rivals and raises the benchmark for the new Bentley 4×4 to compete with.
