The 84th Geneva Motor Show is one of the annual highlights amongst car enthusiasts around the world as the world’s best manufacturers g showcase their latest models. Here are some of the highlights.
Aston Martin V8 Vantage N430
Though the V8 Vantage might be regarded as a bit long in the tooth to some Aston Martin has breathed some new life into it with the V8 Vantage N430 and this exclusive paint job means it’s a model which is guaranteed to get noticed. While the vibrant flashes of paint found around the grille, sides and mirrors are a testament to the racing heritage of the marque, the model is also given an extra 10bhp on the conventional Vantage to put it in the same company as some of the very best track cars on the market today. The V8 Vantage N430 is scheduled to reach forecourts across the UK by September 2014 at a price of £89,995.
Bugatti Veyron Rembrandt
Another year for the Veyron and another special edition called the Bugatti Veyron Rembrandt continuing its tradition of commemorating some of the most important people in the company’s history, on this occasion choosing Rembrandt Bugatti. While the mechanical specifications all remain the same, the unique two-tone paint job and plush interior means it’s a model which will stand out for its aesthetics. It’s a limited edition model and only three are to be made, with each costing £1.8million.
Koenigsegg One:1
A model which looks more like a spaceship than a road car, the Koenigsegg One:1 is a supercar in every sense and its extraordinary styling means that all six models have already been snapped up at the price of $2 million each. Its peculiar name refers to the car’s power to weight ratio, which combined with a catalogue of tweaks helps it to command a top speed of 273mph and make it the fastest unverified road car in the world. It’s designed with the track more in mind than the road – one example of this being that the boot space has been significantly reduced to increase the level of aerodynamics.
Lamborghini Huracan
As the Lamborghini Gallardo has now finished production the Huracan certainly serves as an admirable replacement. Taking inspiration from both the Gallardo and the Aventador, the Huracan is sure to excite car enthusiasts around the world, and the 601bp V10 engine will no doubt deliver some incredible performance. It’s also the first Lambo to feature a dual-clutch transmission, ensuring that the drive quality is will rival both the 458 and McLaren 12C. Set to cost in the vicinity of £180,000 it shouldn’t be too long before you see one in the Romans showroom.
Maserati Alfeiri
Finally we have the Maserati Alfieri, a concept car which showcases the effortless styling which the badge with the trident has become famous for delivering over the years. It’s a 460bhp V8 coupe which oozes class and sophistication. Although the concept model is made entirely of carbon fibre, it’s thought that if it goes to production the models will be crafted from aluminium and composite.
There was plenty more on offer at the Geneva Motor Show where we were in attendance this year as guests of Bugatti but hopefully we see all the best cars in the Romans showroom very soon.
