The luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin has revealed that it will be producing limited edition cars bound for China to celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Dragon, which commenced on the 23rd January.

The special edition model will be named the ‘Dragon88′ and is expected to be available in the V8 Vantage, Virage and DBS variant models. The name Dragon88 signifies the year of the Dragon and that the production number was limited to a mere 88 cars. Incidentally, the number 8 is a lucky number in China.

The limited edition Aston Martin Dragon88 cars are scheduled for unveiling at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show later in the year, and it is expected that the company is already accepting orders for these very special luxury cars.

These special edition Aston Martin Dragon88 cars will be available in three colours for buyers; they will be able to select from Champagne Gold, which represents wealth and fortune; Amethyst Red, which represents peace, protection and wealth; and lastly Volcano Red, which represents dragon fire. Internally, the Dragon88 special edition will be hand crafted and finished to the quality level you would expect from an Aston Martin. In addition, the Dragon88 special edition will feature an embroidery design which has been inspired by the Nine-Dragon Wall in Beijing’s Beihai Park.
