The S-Class has long been considered the flagship model for Mercedes-Benz showcasing the latest technology and features and whilst the S-Class saloon is very much catered for those that like to be driven, the S-Class Coupe is for those that like to get behind the wheel. The coupe and cabriolet versions have been dropped for the latest generation S-Class meaning this previous generation S63 Coupe is the last of its kind.
This is the facelifted model which was released in 2018 and it undoubtedly set the benchmark for Mercedes in terms of it's ultimate luxury grand tourer. The 4.0L V8 engine replaced the old 5.5L V8 and they introduced a new 9-speed gearbox bringing the S63 firmly into the new age. There were also several styling updates including the new Panamerica front grille and an updated cabin with all the latest tech that Mercedes had to offer at the time. The appealing nature of the S63's split personality where high levels of refinement ensure this is a luxurious and comfortable cruiser but it's equally at home being a German muscle car with bundles of power and torque contributing to what is a scintillating V8 soundtrack.

WHAT THE JOURNALISTS SAY
- Even from the depths of the behemoth that is the S-Class coupe’s body, it still manages to deliver one of the best V8 engine notes on sale - accompanied, of course, by plenty of crackle from the exhaust as you bleed off the throttle.
- They also provide performance that blends silky refinement with thrilling athleticism.
- The S63 thrives as a comfortable GT cruiser. The best word to describe the driving experience of the S63 Coupe is dignified. It feels sure-footed, and despite its sheer size, is easily pointed into a corner with accuracy.
