The 488 Pista Spider is the 50th open top model produced by Ferrari and potentially one of their last special edition drop-tops to feature a pure combustion V8 engine. Arguably one of the best looking Ferrari's of recent times the 488 Pista Spider is becoming an increasingly important car sitting amongst the lightweight convertible specials such as the 16M Scuderia Spider and the 458 Speciale Aperta but it appears that this model line has come to an end. The F8 Spider which succeeded the 488 Spider did not get a lightweight special version and with Ferrari continuing to downside engines and look to hybrid powertrains for extra performance it seems that the Pista Spider may well represent the last in line.
