Make Overview

Despite being one of the smallest car manufacturers in the UK, producing around 100 cars per year, Ariel have left their mark on the industry by designing some of the most exciting lightweight performance cars on the market. With only a few models in their line-up, Ariel have managed to build a strong reputation for making some of the best track-day cars, despite remaining completely road legal.

The Ariel Atom is perhaps the most recognisable car to come out of the Somerset-based factory. Powered by the same engine as a Honda Civic Type-R and built from not much more than an exoskeleton and a set of wheels, the Atom is as stripped back as a car can get. With no bodywork, no roof, and certainly no creature comforts, Ariel were able to get the Atom to weigh less than 500kg. Several variants of the Atom have been produced over the years, each sticking to the Ariel philosophy of ‘less is more’.

The Ariel Nomad, released in 2015, was the next step in Ariel’s evolution – a road-legal off-roading buggy with the performance to tear up a track just like the Atom. The Nomad represents the ultimate in automotive adventure and versatility and is just about as much fun as driving a car can get.
