Model Overview
The Aventador was first introduced at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show as a replacement for the 10 year old Murcielago. Taking it’s name from a famous Spanish bull the Aventador is the flagship model and has been a huge success for Lamborghini. It featured a brand new V12 engine, Lamborghini’s first since the Miura and was also the world’s first car to feature a carbon fibre monocoque where the body and chassis were built as one unit.
The Aventador is a supercar that will be defined by the way it looks and having borrowed elements from the limited edition Revanton it truly amazes and has been widely praised for it’s sheer presence and dramatic styling. It is also evident that this is an altogether better sports car than anything Lamborghini have ever built before it. It is more balanced than it’s predecessor with excellent grip and traction thanks to the 4WD system and is astonishing at high speeds. A single clutch provides very quick shifts and is lighter and more compact than a dual-clutch system if not quite as smooth but with 3 different driving modes (Sport, Strada and Corsa) from it’s semi-auto gearbox there is plenty to get excited about.
There is also a Roadster variant which is even more outrageous looking featuring removable carbon fibre roof panels and is said to match the performance of the coupe while the limited 50th anniversary edition will be the one for the collectors. The Aventador is a car that will always be very welcome in the Romans showroom and is a firm favourite with many of our followers and customers.
