The 2008 Aston Martin V12 Vantage, is a highly demanded model offering the 5.9L, 510bhp V12 engine from the DBS in the Vantage’s sportier, more compact package. A convertible V12 Vantage Roadster followed shortly afterwards, as did the V12 Vantage S which in 2013 lifted power output up 55bhp to 565bph, added new adjustable damping, carbon ceramic brakes, and used a new Sportshift III 7-speed semi-automatic transmission. The V12 Vantage S accelerates from 0-62mph is 3.8 seconds and the vehicle tops out at 205mph, making it Aston Martin’s fastest production car in history. Aston Martin surprised fans with a 7-speed dog-leg manual variation of the V12 Vantage S, limited to 100 cars.
In 2015, Aston Martin revealed the Vantage GT12, once again with production limited to 100. This previously-named ‘GT3’ special edition quite obviously took on track cars from rivals, and featured a 592bhp variation of the 5.9L V12, with a 0-62 time of 3.5 seconds. The GT12 spawned 3 one-off special customer orders in a Vantage GT12 Roadster, a Vantage AMR Pro which was designed as an ‘accessible’ race car chasing Aston Martin’s own Vulcan in the ranks, and finally a Vantage V600 with power and styling upgrades to the 7-speed manual V12 Vantage S.
The Aston Martin V12 Vantage price is holding its own in the marketplace, given the relatively low overall volume of units produced. A handful of special edition V12 Vantage variants can be found, usually with ultra-low mileage, at collectors’ premiums and overall the model should prove a prudent investment in years to come.
