Students win the Ferrari World Design Content

Ferrari, the luxury sports car manufacturer has recently announced the winners of the “Ferrari World Design Contest”, and the eventual winners were the students from Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea.

The special design competition setup by the Ferrari Styling Centre was taken up by 50 universities worldwide, who were challenged to imagine a Ferrari of the future.

The judges felt the winning students from Seoul University provided the finest interpretation of Ferrari’s design brief; a thoroughbred “hypercar” brimming with new generation technologies, materials and an extreme sports car not only in its design architecture, but in every other aspect.

First an initial 2D design was completed by the students, then had to generate 3D models, plus make a physical 1:4 scale model with a detailed interior. The competition was organised to inspire and see what new innovative ideas and concepts could be imagined by the next generation of potential luxury car designers.
