New Mercedes-Benz SL63 from AMG on the Horizon

A new version of the über-desirable Mercedes-Benz SL63 from AMG is on the horizon for 2012. The German luxury car manufacturer is producing an updated version of this sublime, high performance roadster, which has adopted many design features of the awesome Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG super sports car.

The new Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG will boast a new light-weight construction, using performance materials such as carbon fibre and aircraft grade light-weight alloy. The end result is lighter overall body weight, a stiffer chassis and body construction for better handling, and a reputed 30 per cent reduction in fuel consumption.

Power for the ultimate roadster comes in the form of the sensational AMG 5.5 litre V8 twin-turbo engine, which will deliver 537hp; and, if you specify the AMG Performance option, you will get the 564hp version engine. The performance figures quoted by Mercedes are 0 – 62 mp/h (or 0 – 100km/h) in 4.3 & 4.2 seconds respectively for each engine configuration and a top speed of 155 mph (or 250 km/h), which is electronically limited for both engine variations.

This new roadster from Mercedes comes with a huge addition of added features, many of which are safety orientated, making this one of the safest luxury roadsters available.
