Geneva Motor Show 2012: New Performance and Luxury Cars

One of the most prestigious and important automotive events will be taking place in the next few weeks: the International Geneva Motor Show (or Salon International de l’Auto, as it is known in France). The annual show is held at the Geneva Palexpo convention centre in the Swiss city of Geneva and takes place from 8 – 18 March 2012.

The Geneva Motor Show is often considered the most significant of all the motor shows throughout the world, because of its timing annually and the show’s heritage. This year sees a total of 180 world and European vehicle premieres that will be presented by the 260 exhibitors at the show.

Some of the luxury car marques and their new cars to look out for will include the 235mph Pagani Huayra (the 700bhp supercar successor to the Zonda); the new Koenigsegg Agera R with its 5.0 litre V8 engine that gives an awesome 1,115bhp and will run on biofuel; the new Aston Martin range, including the Virage model based on the DB9, with its formidable 6.0-litre V12 engine delivering 490bhp to the wheels; and Bugatti’s new Veyron 16.4 Super Sport, with its top speed of 252mph (407km/h).
