The Aston Martin V12 Vanquish was first launched in 2001 as the brand’s flagship supercar and was later succeeded by the DBS in 2007. In 2012, Aston revived the Vanquish name as a replacement for the DBS, introducing a more refined and performance-focused grand tourer. Built on the fourth-generation VH platform originally developed for the DB9, the new Vanquish featured a full carbon fibre body and significantly improved chassis rigidity, helping it deliver sharper handling and greater ride comfort while retaining the elegance expected of an Aston Martin.

Powered by a 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 and paired with the 8-speed Touchtronic III gearbox in later models, the Vanquish delivered seamless acceleration and a soundtrack to match its presence. It was available as both a coupe and a convertible, while special editions such as the Vanquish Zagato produced in coupe, volante, shooting brake and speedster form cemented its status as a modern classic. Heralded by some as a more complete driving car than the £1m One-77, the Vanquish stood as a beautifully balanced GT and a fitting flagship before handing the baton to the more hardcore Vanquish S.
