The Aston DBS Superleggera uses the same successful front-engined super GT formula as the Aston Martin Vanquish to create this new flagship from the legendary British car marque. Powerful engine in the front, 2+2 seats in the middle and ample boot space at the rear make for a successful design model. The same 5.2L twin-turbo V12 found in the DB11 has had the wick turned up and with it the numbers. Now producing a whopping 715bhp and 664lb/ft good for 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds and on to a top speed of 211mph.
The Aston Martin Superleggera is 70kg lighter than the V12 DB11 and uses shorter gearing for better performance, whilst a redesigned quad exhaust system has been tuned for more noise in the cars most usable torque band. At Aston Martin, they consider the Aston Martin Superleggera their top of the range super GT, and the firm is using the launch of the car, to draw in Ferrari 812 Superfast buyers. The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera price puts it in a similar bracket as its Italian rival and the design team considers this a genuinely compelling alternative to the car from Maranello. In early 2019 a convertible version of the DBS Superleggera is set to hit the market called the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante and is set to become Aston Martin’s fastest drop-top yet.
