Model Overview

Synonymous with the Aston Martin brand is the DB9, it has been the long-time stalwart model which still today is placed as perhaps the most iconic of the modern Aston Martins for sale despite the influx of new contenders such as the DBS and the Vantage over the last decade. Being the first Aston Martin for sale to be hand built from the new headquarters in Gayden, it started a new era for Aston accentuating why the DB9 will always be seen as a very important car. The Aston Martin DB9 first went on sale in 2004 as the successor to the DB7 carrying on the famous DB name created when David Brown bought the company back in 1947. The Aston Martin DB abbreviation has been behind the most famous Aston Martins of all-time and the DB9 will more than likely in the future be seen as another classic. The Aston Martin DB9 has stayed relevant throughout its years being refreshed and updated and remains one of the most beautiful luxury cars for sale on the market. With its 2+2 seating and long wheelbase it is very much a GT car and it doesn’t try to be anything else.

There is a reason the DB9 is the model which all other modern Astons have based themselves and that is because Aston built a near-flawless chassis with its bonded aluminium structure the car’s strength and rigidity has allowed Aston to create one of the smoothest and relaxing driving experiences around. Though the performance is impressive the DB9 went on sale to appease the drivers who appreciate beauty and comfort over torque and power, and it does a fantastic job of doing that. It is available as both a coupe and convertible version named the Aston Martin DB9 Volante, with both cars coming standard with a Touchtronic gearbox, though a manual gearbox does exist. The Aston Martin DB9 price has reduced gradually over the years and with the release of the DB11, it now offers great value for money. The terrific V12 engine has been amongst a host of features that have been updated through a series of facelifts with the important updates being in 2008 and most recently for the 2013 model.

The latest facelift for the DB9 was decided after Aston had experimented with a new model called the Virage, a more expensive model but very similar to the DB9 in terms of style and features. Such was the demand still for the DB9 that Aston scrapped the Virage altogether after just one year and instead produced a revised DB9 confirming its status as a timeless masterpiece of elegance. The swan-song was the Aston Martin DB9 GT produced by Aston as a run-out model to celebrate this magnificent and much loved iconic British car.
