Model Overview
The Aston Martin DB12 was officially unveiled in May 2023 as the spiritual successor to the DB11, marking a bold new chapter for the iconic DB bloodline. While it carries forward the familiar silhouette of its predecessor, the DB12 is more than just a facelift, it represents a major step forward in performance, luxury, and technology, earning Aston Martin’s new title of “Super Tourer.”
Under the bonnet lies a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine sourced from Mercedes-AMG, but heavily reworked by Aston Martin engineers to deliver 671 bhp and 590 lb-ft of torque—an impressive leap over the DB11 V8. With this powertrain, the DB12 accelerates from 0–62 mph in just 3.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 202 mph. Despite the absence of a V12 option, the DB12’s performance credentials are firmly in supercar territory.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, with an electronic rear differential (a first for a DB model) enhancing cornering precision and agility. The chassis has also been thoroughly revised, featuring a 7% increase in torsional rigidity, new adaptive dampers, and Michelin Pilot Sport 5S tyres developed specifically for the DB12.
Inside, the DB12 debuts an all-new infotainment system designed entirely in-house by Aston Martin featuring a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and over-the-air updates. The interior retains the brand’s handcrafted elegance, with a mix of fine leather, carbon fibre, and sleek digital interfaces seamlessly blended into a driver-focused cockpit.
Positioned between the Vantage and DBS in the range, the DB12 replaces the DB11 outright and signals Aston Martin’s intent to shift from traditional GT to more performance-led grand tourers. With sharper dynamics, cutting-edge tech, and muscular styling, the DB12 is arguably the most complete Aston Martin GT to date and a strong statement of where the brand is heading.
