Ferrari 812 Superfast

Ferrari launched the 812 Superfast in 2017 as the successor to the hugely successful F12Berlinetta, adding modern features and an updated exterior appearance. This model is designed to be Ferrari’s flagship front-engined supercar, with design features transferred directly from the LaFerrari. These features include a similar cockpit design and the same braking system which provides a 5.8% better braking performance than its predecessor, the F12Berlinetta.

The 812 uses a slightly bigger engine than the F12, a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 as opposed to the 6.3-litre. This increases the power output to 789hp, 59hp more than the Berlinetta. At the time of release Ferrari claimed this to be the most powerful naturally aspirated production car engine ever made. The 7-speed dual clutch transmission remains the same as the F12, with Ferrari intending to maximise driver engagement and ensure an efficient power delivery.

The design of the 812 Superfast, which is inspired by the F12, utilises a high tail rear-end design, closely resembling the 365 GTB/4 Daytona. The quad circular tail lights and re-designed, wider front grille further show the evolution of the 812 from the F12. In September 2018 Ferrari unveiled the open top version of the 812, the 812 GTS. The GTS is the first front-engine V12 convertible from Ferrari on offer to the public in 50 years and is set to be in extremely high demand.
