Model Overview

The 2017 Aston Martin DB11 debuted at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016, as a replacement to the legendary Aston Martin DB9. The DB11 is the first car launched since Aston Martin’s tie-up with Daimler AG and is the first all-new Aston Martin in nearly 14 years. It is heavily influenced by the DB10 that starred in the James Bond movie Spectre.

The Aston Martin DB11 is a front mid-engine, 2-door grand tourer, which is available in both a coupe and convertible version, the Aston Martin DB11 Volante. The DB11 comes with the option off two engine variants, a 4.0 L Mercedes-AMG twin-turbocharged V8, and the top of the line 5.2 L twin-turbocharged V12. The V8 produces 503hp and 498 lb ft and can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 4 seconds going on to reach a top speed of 187 mph. The 5.2L V12 generates 600 hp and 516 lb ft, and with that extra power can deal with 0-62 mph in just 3.6 seconds and hit a top speed of 200mph. As with its DB9 predecessor, the DB11 has a traditional rear-wheel drive setup and a transaxle gearbox location. This means that the 8-speed automatic gearbox is fitted between the rear wheels of the car, enabling a near perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The Aston Martin DB11 price point sits the DB11 somewhere between the Vantage and the DBS Superleggera, with used prices now offering remarkable value for money. Overall the DB11 has made a worthy talisman of the Aston Martin DB series as we look forward to a potential Aston Martin DB12 in the 2020’s.

A more recent variant of the DB11 is the 2018 Aston Martin DB11 AMR taking power up to 630hp from the V12, adding yellow AMR livery and an even rowdier exhaust note to the equation.
