Model Overview

Upon its unveiling in 2011, the Aventador was considered one of the most outrageous looking, sounding and feeling cars ever created. The incredible 6.5L V12 engine was an instant hit, being the first all-new V12 produced by Lamborghini since 1964 and setting a precedent as one of the best engines Lamborghini has ever built.

The Aventador SV, or SuperVeloce, took all of these factors and turned them up a notch, along with weight savings of just over 50kg with the use of carbon fibre on both the interior and exterior of the car. The result of these changes is an even more hardcore and visceral version of the Aventador, with refreshed suspension, steering and an improved chassis for even better handling. The engine’s power has also been upgraded to 740bhp, allowing the SV to achieve a 0-62mph time of just 2.8 seconds, which, almost eight years later, still competes with current hypercars.

The SV retains the standard Aventador’s sharp lines and shape, but has been subtly redesigned for a more aggressive and angular look. The glass rear engine cover has been replaced with a carbon fibre slatted piece for weight saving, and a new rear wing has been introduced to improve downforce. Lamborghini also introduced the SV Roadster slightly later in 2015, which allowed customers to truly enjoy the legendary engine noise in open-top luxury. While 600 Aventador SV coupes were produced throughout its lifetime, only 500 roadsters were built, making it that slight bit more special.

Overall, the SV takes an already outrageous car and takes it to an even higher level on all accounts. The styling and road presence of the Aventador SV is unlike anything else on the road and perfectly accompanies the incredible capability that this car has to offer. The Aventador as a whole, particularly special editions such as the SV will surely go down in history as some of the best Lamborghinis ever made.
