On their most hardcore cars such as the GT2 RS, GT3 RS and this the 918 Spyder, Porsche offer performance-oriented packages named after Weissach, where Porsche's research and development centre is based. The £60,000 Weissach Pack option box on the 918 Spyder specification sheet was ticked on approximately 25% of the cars which left the factory, making these cars even rarer and more desirable. This Nurburgring developed pack is all about shaving weight using features such as lightweight Magnesium wheels, titanium chassis bolts and plenty of carbon fibre. Aerodynamics are also improved with a front splitter and rear aero fins in exposed carbon fibre to compliment the roof and windscreen surround. Other highlight features include the grab handles which have replaced the heavier door handles and racing harnesses for both seats to keep you firmly planted.
The Porsche 918 Spyder has re-written the hypercar rulebook. Producing a staggering 887bhp and 944 lb ft of torque from its naturally aspirated 4.6 litre V8 engine together with two electric motors. This has resulted in the fastest road-going Porsche ever made. The 918 accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 214mph. Furthermore, this astonishing car can lap the famous Nurburgring race track in under 7 minutes. The 918 Spyder is a masterpiece of engineering that combines the best of hybrid technology with motorsport heritage.
"Neurologically impossible-to-compute speed. Laugh-out-loud speed." - Jeremy Clarkson
"Above all else the 918 is the most complicated and most impressive piece of car calibration ever achieved." - Chris Harris
"Blending cutting-edge hybrid technology with track-proven motorsport engineering, the 918 has redefined the hypercar market." - Auto Express
