The Porsche 911 Targa was produced for drivers who wanted a convertible car with the knowledge that it provided more safety than a completely convertible car. With its immediately recognisable design the Targa echoes the original 1965 Targa with the fixed roll over bar, fixed to a large rear window. This is designed to give the driver the best of both worlds with coupe styling and the ability to provide an open top experience.
The 991.1 Targa 4S uses the 3.8 litre flat-six from the same generation Carrera S, which outputs 50 bhp more than the 991.1 Targa 4 variant. Both are four-wheel drive, with the 4S reaching a top speed of 182 mph with the PDK transmission.
The Targa 4S provides the driver with a car focused on safety whilst enjoying a more involving experience with the surroundings. With the roof down is where the Targa really shines, allowing the addictive flat-six engine note to be heard in detail without the overwhelming wind noise.
