This Le Mans inspired special edition 911 has been built by Porsche to celebrate the success of it’s British racing drivers - Richard Attwood, Nick Tandy and Derek Bell. Based on the driver focused Carrera 4 GTS these British Legends Edition have been built using input from all 3 drivers to create a fitting spec which includes the extensive use of alcantara, carbon fibre and several performance orientated options included here as standard.
Out of the 3 driver’s Derek Bell is the only multiple winner of Le Mans having won the iconic endurance race 5 times including 4 times with Porsche (1981, 1982, 1986 and 1987) but this Sapphire Blue car is a nod to the 1982 race where Bell won Le Mans in his “Rothmans Blue” Porsche 956. Whilst there is an optional manual gearbox for all these British Legends Editions, fittingly this car is equipped with the PDK gearbox which was actually first introduced on the Porsche 956 in the 1980s. With special edition plaques and badges this is certainly a car that will appeal to motor racing enthusiasts and collectors, but despite the heritage being based around Le Mans race cars this is in fact a very usable and excellent 4-wheel drive road car. Please note: The original owner removed the racing livery stickers which were on the side skirts, these can be re-fitted easily.
"Ultimately, the Carrera 4 GTS is the ideal all-round 911." - Car Magazine
"Performance and handling that'll leave you breathless!" - The Telegraph
"The four-wheel drive is incredibly clever, allowing you to either maximise the traction on offer and fire out of corners at a rate that would embarrass some mid-engined supercars." - Auto Express
