The second generation of the 991 911 Turbo S offers more power than previously thanks to modified inlet ports and a revised high-pressure fuel system. The 991.2 Turbo S develops 572bhp from a 3.8L engine, which enables the car to do a claimed ‘official’ 0-62mph time of 2.9 seconds. However, Porsche has been known to be somewhat ‘conservative’ with its figures lately and if you ask a Porsche engineer or an owner of one of these beautiful machines you might get an answer a fair chunk lower than that ‘quoted’ 2.9 seconds. This ludicrous acceleration is the result of a very torquey turbo charged engine combined with a brilliant all-wheel drive system, meaning that launching one of these cars off the line is one of the most violent things you can do in a road car.
The Turbo S is absolutely packed with the latest gadgets, gizmos and technology that Porsche can muster in order to keep that unruly motor in check and offer market leading driver comfort and convenience. Furthermore, this car still retains the practicality of 2+2 foldable rear seats, over its nearest rivals such as the R8 V10 Plus and the 570S. Combine this with exceptional styling, Porsche build quality and ruthless performance and you have a recipe for one of the best everyday supercars that money can buy.
"The ultimate everyday supercar!" - EVO
"As usable a rocketship as you'll ever encounter. Its launch control system is the biggest thrill!" - Autocar
"A serious performance car, with the kind of acceleration and handling that could embarrass supercars with much higher price tags." - Auto Express
