In an age of turbocharged engines, hybrid powertrains and a future of electric cars, some of the older generation engines are becoming increasingly iconic and few match up to the 6.2L Naturally Aspirated V8 engine found on the C63 (W204). The Edition 507 represented a swansong for this engine which was replaced in 2015 by a 4.0L Turbocharged V8. The 507 received upgraded power over the regular C63 to 500 bhp (507 PS) thanks to a revised ECU, new conrods, a lightweight crankshaft and forged pistons adopted from the SLS AMG which saves 3kgs to the internals. Meanwhile the top speed limiter was also lifted, seeing the top speed rise from 155mph to 174mph.
Furthermore, the Edition 507 distinguishes itself from the regular C63 by coming with uniquely designed alloys, upgraded front brakes, the vented aluminium bonnet from the C63 Black Series, gloss black styling and some AMG sports stripes. Whilst the Black Series remains the ultimate C63, much can be said for the 507 Edition which represents somewhat of a halfway house retaining much of what is loved about the C63 of this era but with added rarity, unique styling and can definitely be considered a modern classic with potential for future appreciation.

"Find a car that's well-kept and healthy, and the W204 C63 is one of the most beloved (and capable) AMGs ever made." - Pistonheads.
