Being built to directly rival the Taycan, the RS e-tron GT always had the ingredients to become a success. Building upon the e-tron SUV, Audi decided it was time to introduce a grand tourer to the mix in the form of the RS e-tron GT. The RS e-tron GT Carbon Vorsprung receives the Carbon Vorsprung Pack that adds carbon to the exterior and door sills. The interior gets treated with Carbon Fibre Twill inlays. The RS e-tron GT produces a total of 590bhp. The result in terms of performance for an electric grand tourer weighing in at 2347kg, is a 0-62mph time of 3.3 seconds and a claimed range of up to 282 miles.
A front double-wishbone and rear multi-link setup combined with adaptive damping and air springs allows for far better body control than you might expect from a heavy electric grand tourer. The result is an enjoyable driving experience on country roads – something that is lacking from many electric vehicles. The RS e-tron GT feels far better at providing feedback than its SUV brothers. As you step into the driver’s seat, you don’t instantly feel as though there isn’t an internal combustion engine up-front. The interior is very similar to that of its petrol-powered counterparts – and this isn’t a bad thing. Its comfortable, intuitive and not overly complicated. The RS e-tron GT doesn’t pretend to be something that it isn’t. Audi haven’t deviated from what a grand tourer should stand for, instead they have captured all that is important for a saloon that is comfortable over long distances and gone the extra mile in terms of chassis technology in order to produce something that achieves exactly what it was designed for and more.
"It’s fast, comfortable and practical enough to pretty much meet your every whim." - What Car
"Ingolstadt's take on the Taycan combines striking looks with a high-class interior and never feels short of pace." - Auto Car
"Far superior to Audi’s existing e-tron models, and not only because the GT isn’t an SUV. Where the GT shines is how every area of the car has a feeling of being designed to do the job in hand." - EVO
