The Vanquish has been one of the defining cars of the Gaydon Era of Aston Martins, often referred to as one of the company's most beautiful designs before Aston took a new direction. The Vanquish S was unveiled in 2016 and became Aston's flagship V12 representing the very last of their naturally aspirated V12s before being succeeded by the turbocharged DBS Superleggera in 2018.

The Vanquish S Volante followed in the footsteps of the coupe version sharing a number of mechanical and aesthetic upgrades over the standard Vanquish.
