Model Overview

The latest reincarnation of the Maserati Ghibli is a luxury 4-door saloon which was introduced in 2013. This expanded the Maserati line-up, which aims to cover most types of body styles in the luxury car market. The Ghibli is Maserati’s first mid-size luxury vehicle since the Maserati Biturbo, of which production ended in 1994.

The Ghibli offers three different 3.0-litre V6 engines, two petrol featuring in the Ghibli and the Ghibli S and one diesel featuring in the Ghibli Diesel. The two petrol engine models feature a twin-turbo setup with power outputs of 325hp and 404hp respectively. These engines were designed and assembled by Ferrari and therefore have tremendous pedigree. The Ghibli Diesel provides 275hp and marks the first diesel in Maserati’s history. The 4-wheel drive version, the Ghibli Q4, is unfortunately unavailable in the UK.

For the 2018 model year the Ghibli and Ghibli S had a 20hp hike, whilst two additional trim levels were made available, the GranSport and GranLusso, giving the Ghibli a welcome lifecycle update. The GranSport focuses on giving the Ghibli a more performance orientated feel with features such as more aggressive exterior styling and a uniquely sporty interior. The GranLusso puts more emphasis on luxury and elegance again featuring four-zone climate contol, the additional use of chrome and an electric rear privacy blind. Both new trim levels feature the addition of intelligent Matrix LED Headlights, new front grille and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems including autonomous driving.
