The most hardcore and track-focused Vantage to ever leave the factory and based on Aston Martin’s GT3 race car, the Vantage GT12 is commonly referred to as the ‘Ultimate Aston Martin Vantage’. It’s not hard to see why, even when looking on paper, as this Vantage not only features the beloved 5.9-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine, but has also been widened and laden with aerodynamic upgrades. The large rear wing and front splitter generate huge amounts of downforce, with the widened track offering tremendous levels of grip – perfectly fine tuned for track use.

The GT12 accelerates from 0-62mph in just 3.5 seconds – nearly a second quicker than its V8 counterpart. Power sits at a healthy 590bhp, with top speed creeping to 200mph. All very impressive statistics considering the main focus of this car was pinpoint handling and reducing weight. Extensive use of carbon fibre contributes to these weight reductions, including a carbon prop shaft and cast magnesium inlet manifold. The interior is also stripped back and laden with carbon fibre, further reducing weight and giving the impression that you’re sat in a true race car for the road.

Unlike the GT8, only 100 examples of the GT12 were ever made – making it one of the rarest and most sought-after Aston Martins to leave the factory. Its raucous nature, ultra-aggressive looks and unbelievable track performance culminate into a masterpiece, and place the Vantage GT12 at the very top tier of Aston Martin’s history. It’s a car that will surely go down as one of the greats.
