Founded in 1914 by 5 brothers in Bologna, Maserati is known for producing high-performance vehicles that do not compromise on design or quality.
In the early days of the company, Maserati focused on building race cars, and they quickly made a name for themselves on the track. They won their first major race in 1926 and continued to dominate in the following decades, winning two Formula One championships in the 1950s with legend Juan Manuel Fangio, and numerous other races and championships throughout the years.
After producing a variety of grand tourers and sports cars, Maserati presented their first Quattroporte (4-door) at the Turin Motor Show in 1963. Being the first of its kind, this car combined a practical luxury car with a 260hp engine and paved the way for the luxury sports sedan market and
Breaking from Maserati’s usual luxury grand tourers, the MC12 was a two-seater supercar with a Ferrari Enzo-derived chassis and engine. Introduced in 2004 and limited to just 50 examples, the MC12 is rarer than even the McLaren F1, and was built to as a homologation car to signal Maserati’s return to racing after 37 dormant years.
One of Maserati's most iconic models is the GranTurismo, a sleek and powerful sports car that is as stylish as it is fast. With its long hood, short rear deck, and signature grille, the GranTurismo is a classic example of Italian sports car design. Produced whilst under Ferrari ownership, the GranTurismo, and its convertible variant – the GranCabrio - remains the flagship of Maserati design. Another notable model from Maserati is the Levante, the brand’s first luxury SUV that combines the brand's signature performance and style with the versatility and practicality of an SUV.
