Make Overview

Alfa Romeo is one of the quintessential Italian manufacturers, with a rich history dating back over 100 years, including some of the most iconic figures in the automotive world. Founded in 1910 in Milan as ‘Alfa’, their first car was the ALFA 24 HP, which also marked the beginning of their successful motorsport venture by entering the iconic Targa Florio public road endurance race. In 1915, Italian entrepreneur Nicola Romeo began leading the company, putting the Romeo in ‘Alfa Romeo’.

Heavily involved in racing, Alfa Romeo have competed in Formula One, rallying, sportscar racing, and touring car racing, with names like Enzo Ferrari, Juan Manuel Fangio, and Nino Farina contributing to Alfa Romeo's racing success. Winning prestigious events such as the Targa Florio, Mille Miglia, and the first ever Formula One championship in 1950, there is no doubt that Alfa Romeo have solidified themselves as a cornerstone of automotive history.

Being acquired by Fiat in 1986 proved to be a turning point for Alfa Romeo, with plenty iconic cars leaving the still Italian-based factory. The Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione has remained one of their most popular exotic cars, renowned for its beautiful styling and calling back to the classic 8C racing car from the 1930’s. In 2014, the Alfa Romeo 4C was released - a more affordable mid-engined sports car inspired by the 8C. Winning multiple awards, the 4C remains a hallmark of Alfa styling, with several variants and special editions made to capitalise on its success.

Away from performance cars, Alfa Romeo have produced a range of successful cars such as the Guila, and more recently their exploration into the SUV world with the Stelvio. Competing with the likes of the Porsche Macan and BMW X3, the Stelvio is Alfa Romeos best-selling model. Recently, Alfa Romeo have ventured into the hybrid vehicle space with the Tonale, a crossover SUV ushering in a new era for Alfa Romeo.
