Romans International is a specialist dealership for luxury sports cars in Surrey, offering premium quality examples of luxury cars for sale and is one of the UK's top specialists for Mercedes-Benz vehicles.

Mercedes-Benz can trace the company's early beginnings as far back as 1886, when Karl Benz's produced Benz Patent Motorwagen, which has widely been considered as the first petrol-powered automobile. It wasn't until 1926 when the use of the name Mercedes-Benz brand name was seen on the company's motor cars following the merger of Karl Benz's and Gottlieb Daimler's companies.

The highly recognisable "three-pointed star" used for the Mercedes-Benz company logo and badges, was first patented on 24th June 1909 by Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) or (Daimler Motors Corporation). This logo has meant that Mercedes-Benz has become one of the most easily identified global brands around the world and is often ranked around the top ten of "Best Global Brands" by the global 'Interbrand report'.

This makes Mercedes-Benz one of the most well-known and long established automotive brands in the world today, which now sees the Mercedes-Benz company celebrating its 125th Anniversary of the pursuit of motoring technical excellence.

Mercedes-Benz brand has been at the forefront of development in every aspect of the automobile manufacturing industry and have introduced many technological and safety innovations that later became common in other vehicles. Mercedes-Benz doesn't just produce automobiles; they also produce buses, coaches and trucks.

The company's heritage has also been has also seen a majority of its technical development come from the race track. As far back as 1904 when the first Mercedes-Benz purpose built race car was produced in 1902, then later in 1914 when Mercedes won its first major race the French Grand Prix. During the 1920's and into the 30's, the Mercedes-Benz race team known as the "Silver Arrows" dominated the racing scene. The cars became lighter and lighter using new lightweight materials and the development of more powerful engines.

In the 1950's after the Second World War Mercedes-Benz made a return to the Formula race season with the technologically advanced 'Mercedes-Benz W196' race car and saw drivers like the now legendary Juan Manuel Fangio and a young English driver named Stirling Moss. The team again dominated the 1954 and 1955 race seasons with its winning combination of technical excellence and genius driving from its star drivers.

Since the early nineties Mercedes-Benz returned to motorsport and the prestigious Grand Prix championship and started as an engine supplier to teams like Sauber and McLaren, which saw the Mercedes powered race cars gaining podium finishes throughout the season.

Then in 1997 Formula One season David Coulthard produced victory for McLaren powered by a Mercedes-Benz engine. This was the start of a hugely successful partnership between McLaren and Mercedes-Benz, as they achieved world championship wins for Mika Hakkinen, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button to date.

With this winning and competitive edge, Mercedes-Benz has used valuable experience and technology which has helped them to build some of the most advanced and efficient luxury cars on our roads today.
